Happy Tuesday y’all! Here’s my version of “Sex On Fire” by Kings Of Leon.
Vote For Nakia’s “Make Up With A Gun” In The Unsigned Only Fandemonium Contest!
I am really excited to be able to say that my song, “Make Up With A Gun” has been selected as a finalist in the Unsigned Only contest presented by the International Songwriting Competition! They are going to announce the winners really soon, but in the meantime, they are giving me a chance to win an additional contest called “Fandemonium!” Here’s how it works:
Nakia - “Anchored In You” - Live in San Francisco
I’ll be dusting off this Fracasso-penned tune at my show with Elizabeth McQueen this Saturday night at Lamberts. #ChooseYourPoison
First CeeLo texts me to tell me he’s been watching my videos on The Good Music Club then he just tweeted about my solo version of “Dream Big” shot by Ehud Lazin during The Outlaw Roadshow as part of the One on One, Private Sessions set up by Ryan and Adam. It’s a good day. You can watch the video in question at: http://nakia.me/11db-nyc #RedZoneFamily #redtillimdead
Just got this text from CeeLo Green today. Apparently he’s been watching my performances from The Good Music Club on the set of The Voice today, which goes live tonight! Love ya Coach! #redtillimdead #thevoice #teamceelo

"Dream Big" - Live in NYC (solo)
If the gigantic voice that powers our latest set from The Good Music Club sounds familiar, you can probably thank your guilty obsession with NBC’s The Voice. Nakia, the Alabama-raised, Austin-based singer featured here, breezed through several rounds of the inaugural competition, finding himself on the brink of the finals. Though he didn’t win, the experience obviously opened doors for the aspiring musician. Reading through a list of collaborators Nakia’s worked with, names like Cee Lo Green and Lamont Dozier jump out of the credits…and for good reason. Nakia’s got obvious talent. When his voice meets elements of Southern blues, Motown soul, and Chicago Funk, the result is music that’s instantly gratifying…music that’ll instantly carry you away to the pleasure zone. We knew we’d discover incredible new tunes when we signed up for The Good Music Club, but this is just ridiculous.
Thought I’d post my song, “Dream Big” for you to enjoy today. I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I had some amazing dreams last night. So many ideas and plans for the future. I can’t wait to see y’all on the #DreamBigTour! Tickets on sale now at http://nakia.net
